I have told you all some of my most favorite things
in this world, but I haven’t told you what I dislike. There are very few
things that get to me in this world, but there are still a few. Pet
peeves are something that I try not to let them interfere with my day or ruin
my mood, but sometimes these things just get to me. I'm sure everyone has
a few and maybe we share the same. Some of these are just small and
silly, but a couple of these can really bring me down.
1) When
people talk poorly about my family.
I think that talking about someone's family is one
of the most disgusting things that a person can do. You will never see me
talking bad about another person's family and it's because I get really
emotional and enraged when someone talks viciously about mine. I don't
care if it's about my brother, parents, cousin, aunt, or even my best friend.
You do NOT talk bad about
anyone that I consider family. If you do- there is a very good chance that
that will be the last time that we ever talk.
2) When
someone speaks incorrectly.
This one sounds kind of funny but it's one of my
biggest pet peeves, but it's when people use words like "always,"
"everyone," or "all the time." I seriously doubt that
everyone is always jumping off bridges for fun all the time. You see what I mean? Please, think before
you speak. If you didn't mean to say something in a certain manner than
don't say it. I know I am not perfect in this topic by any means, but I
try my best to always speak correctly.
3)
"I have to tell you something, but not right now."
This phrase will make me go from smiling and
laughing to nervous and annoyed in a hot second! It's not just this, it's
always when someone tells me there's a surprise... but that's all they will
tell me. As I have said before, I am not a patient person- so when
someone tells me that they need to talk to me about something or that there is
a surprise or anything along those lines, chances are that I will bug you until
you give me more information.
4) Green
Gum.
This is kind of weird... no okay this is totally
weird. I just don't like green gum. I am actually really picky when
it comes to the flavor of my gum, but I seriously cannot stand green gum.
It grosses me out. It's one of those weird pet peeves that I
have.
5) Swim
caps.
I'm not sure why but I find it completely useless
if somebody doesn't wear a swim cap properly. The point of one is to not
get your hair wet and yet I see people constantly with their half their hair in
the swim cap and the other half hanging out. It just boggles my mind and
I don’t get the point of wearing one.
But hey- that’s just me. If it
works for you than keep doing it.
6)
Bullying.
I seriously don’t understand why people feel the
need to pick on someone just for fun.
Get a life. Seriously if you are
so obsessive over what other people are doing- how do you have time for
yourself? Get over your insecurities and
just be you and let other people be themselves too. This world is already tough enough, we
shouldn’t have to look over our shoulders incase of a bully. Knock it out and grow up.
7) Bugs.
My hatred for bugs is crazy. I will freak out
if it's a fly or an ant. It doesn't matter how harmless the bug is- I
seriously hate them all. They're just so creepy and why do they need to
fly near me? Can't they just stay somewhere else? Gross.
8) Blood,
diseases, bruises ... basically any reason to go to the hospital.
I think that hospitals, blood, and weird skin
infections are so disgusting. I hate seeing or even hearing about how
someone broke a bone, did this or that. I can't stand that stuff.
It gives me the shivers and makes me want to gag. Save that stuff
for the doctors please!
9) When
people tell me that I can't do something.
If you ever want to see me accomplish something and
then slap you in the face with it, this is the best way to do so. My
blood boils when somebody tells me that I can't do something. People told
me that I wouldn't graduate with an advanced degree- so I did. People
told me I wouldn't get accepted to college - I got into my number one choice.
They told me I was too short to play goalie in high school- I made varsity
as the goalkeeper my freshman year. They tried to tell me that
transferring schools would mess up my entire future- Since transferring not
only am I getting my associates degree by the end of this year and my bachelors
by next year, I have decided to continue my education and receive my masters.
I absolutely get so revved up when someone tries to tell me that my
dreams or goals aren't reachable, but maybe that's a good thing, because I do
accomplish them- with or without anyone’s approval.
So some of these are a bit more serious than
others, but these are my pet peeves and other weird things that just seem to
get to me. Do we have any of these in common?
