My Mission Statement

I finally have a mission statement. It took me a while to get there, but once I realized who my audience was, a whole new world opened up for my blog. The truth is I am no one special. I'm Michele, with one "L" and my name is constantly being spelt wrong in e-mails, I have a typical 9-5 job that pays for my bills and I buy dupes of designer bags. I promise to always be honest with you, through the ups and downs because I want to be that typical person who goes through typical through things with you.

Thrifting Challenge

I am so excited about today's blog post. This inspiration was brought to you by YouTuber, LaurDIY. When I saw this video I sent it to my friend Ana (aka my thrifting buddy) right away and said "we should do this during Thanksgiving break." We did and it was so much fun!

Basically, what we did is we went to a thrift store and we timed ourselves thirty minutes and could only spend $30 to create the ultimate thrifted outfit. The next part was that when we got home we were allowed to DIY our outfits and tweak them a bit before showing them off. It was funny because at first I had a ton of stuff in my hands and as I started to dwindle my pile down I was like oh I have all neutrals. Then the heartache of when I got to the counter, this amazon red denim shirt thing I wanted to buy didn't have a tag on it, which means they wouldn't sell it to me. My one piece of color I had.. I was bummed but knew that my DIYing later at home had to be good.

On the other end of that Ana found this amazing black rain jacket in the men's section of all places. She also found a lot more accessories while thrifting where as I only found clothes. We both kind of looked at each other thinking, "oh man she's going to win." 😂 I would say just the experience was more fun because the thrift store we chose was not all that either. Next came the DIY part. Ana is so much more artistic than me so I didn't know what I was getting myself into. She actually had to sew her skirt to fit and with the leftover scrap she made a scrunchie!! I mean.. COME ON. Luckily for me is I found this denim jacket so what do I do? I make it designer. THRIFTING BUT MAKE IT FASHUN. I decided to do the Chanel logo on the back and glitter-ize the buttons. I also had to fix these pants because they were too big on me. I started to fray the pants and the jeans were so thin that a huge slit happened down the pants.. I persevered though and I also decided to put some matching paint dots on the jeans to match the paint dots on the denim jacket. Making it look more like a uniformed outfit. Stocking Stuffers With Dollar Tree

I'm so excited about today's blog post! I'm working with Dollar Tree to share some of my favorite stocking stuffers. Stocking stuffers aren't meant to be expensive, they're mostly supposed to be candy and little gadgets so Dollar Tree is the perfect one-stop shop for everything you need for a stocking stuffer.

1. Candy, Candy, Candy–need I say more?
2. Beauty–this is a great one especially for a traveller in your life. You can fill stockings with face mask, travel skincare or even mini makeups and perfumes. The Dollar Tree even has essential oils and face serums! I was so shocked by this one, but super excited to get some for stockings.
3. Pet Treats–a great option for pet owners. You can never have enough pet treats.
4. Socks–now that I'm an adult I appreciate socks more than ever.
5. Electronics–headphones, chargers, etc. Again, a staple in everyone's lives.
