Will you all ever get tired of me writing about New York? Hopefully not, because hopefully one day this place will be my home and then it'll never end. In the meantime though, here's how I spent 24 hours in New York. It was actually part of Omar's birthday gift, I was able to get tickets to Good Morning America since their celebrity guest was Ryan Reynolds. We drove up Wednesday night, stay at the Hotel Mela and spent all of Thursday exploring the city.
Our morning started bright and early because we had to check-in by a certain time. Even though I don't watch Good Morning America, I knew what it was and figured if Deadpool was going to be the celebrity guest, it would be worth it, plus the tickets are free! You just have to keep an eye out on the calendar and try to grab tickets as soon as possible. We also decided to drive and pay for parking because we wanted to control our own schedule and determine when we arrived and left. It's only a four-hour drive for us too, so not too bad.
The whole GMA experience was really cool! Just being in a live audience and enjoying the show (cellphone free) was incredible. I will say, a lot of people thought it was going to be a meet and greet, but it's not. They're recording a live tv show, so don't be bummed if you don't get pictures with the guest speakers. Asides from that, it was such a fun experience, especially if you can make a day out of it and enjoy the city afterwards. The did about an hour of the show and the audience went home with a ton a fun goodies!
After the show we decided to get some food at T45 under a Hyatt and even though it was a tad bit expensive, it was really good food. We mostly stayed in the Time Square area, because that's where GMA is taped and our hotel was at. We then left later in the afternoon because Omar actually had to work Thursday night, but it was just enough of New York to keep me satisfied until my next trip.
Omar and I were also on TV. If you have Hulu you can stream Good Morning America by clicking here. I listed the minutes you can see us in the background!!
