I'm a fan of YouTuber, Morgan Yates, and when I saw her video where she was working with Clean & Clear, sharing their new Lemon Line I was pretty intrigued. Most of my purchases tend to come from trusted influencers who recommend products. I was pretty interested in the lemon line specifically because I hadn't seen anything like it. I was that person who definitely did the Pinterest thing where you put lemon on your face and lemon juice in your hair and I loved the results. It's just kind of hard to keep up with seeing as how lemon is fruit and something you have to constantly buy. So when I saw this collection in Target one day I thought, hmm let me give it a shot.
Let's start with the price. Each item is $6 so after purchasing the 4 products my total was $24. Not bad for an entire step-by-step process. The only thing I couldn't get my hands on were the Lemon Cleansing Wipes ($5.96). I haven't used a full step-by-step collection since I last purchased Rodan + Fields Unblemish line and you know that is my favorite collection to this day. It's just expensive and I tend to get it as a Christmas gift from my awesome mama every year. So, I was really interested to see how the lemon line would hold up. I had to test it out thoroughly though to give you all an honest review.
I used all four products every night for an entire month to see how my skin would react to it. Every night when I got home from my day I would start with removing my makeup with micecellar water. Then I used the Clean & Clear Lemon products in order starting with the Lemon Gel Cleanser, Lemon Zesty Scrub, Lemon Juice Toner and finally the Lemon Exfoliating Slices. I'm not sure if this the order they are intended to be used in, but it sort of goes with my typical routine and it's how I decided to use all the products. I'll start with why I chose this order of products. Obviously a makeup wipe and micecellar water isn't going to get rid of everything on my face, so I use the Lemon Gel Cleanser to clean off the rest. Next I used the Lemon Zesty Scrub to really get into my pores and get the dirt out. Then the toner is used to get get rid of whatever the cleanser and gel couldn't get while also evening out my skin tone. Lastly, the Lemon Exfoliating Slices gets that last layer of dirt out of my pores and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. This is a lot to do to your skin, which is why I only did it at night.
The first thing I noticed was how clean my skin felt. I normally just use the micecellar water and my normal face wash in the shower, but after using all four of these products my skin felt amazing. Another thing I noticed was that the Lemon Zesty Scrub and the Lemon Exfoliating Slices were so gentle! Normally facial and exfoliating scrubs can be rough on the skin, but I felt that these two products weren't just gentle but were also doing the same work any other scrub would do. You don't need to be rough on your face to truly clean it out. I also had a few breakouts before using these products and I noticed each morning, after using these products before bed, how my breakouts had started to disappear. I noticed some results right away, but after using the products for a month (and only a month) straight I was stunned to see how balanced my skin looked. Hardly any acne on my face (I still got the breakout here and there, but very minor and normally went away within a day or two), my pores were significantly smaller and cleaner and most importantly my skin was balanced. I never really knew what that meant until now. I see product reviews saying this product will leave your skin balanced, but I never saw that until after using these products. The redness, the texture and everything was just balanced on my face and it bought out this new glow on my skin. I truly love this collection and I love the price even more! Does it bean out my Rodan + Fields Unblemish line, no it doesn't, but it's a way more affordable line and I will definitely be repurchasing again.
If I had to choose my favorite products from this line it would be the Lemon Zesty Scrub and the Lemon Exfoliating Slices. I think these two really stood out the most to me and even if just repurchase these two I'll still be able to fully clean my face. Now, just because these products performed so well on my skin, doesn't mean it will with everyone. I have combination skin + cystic acne and these products performed really well with my skin type.
