This was definitely not an expected post but I'm excited to share anyways! My best friend Gabe and I attend the last day of Pride Week in Washington, D.C. and had a meet and greet with Zara Larsson and Marshmello! This was honestly such a fun experience and I just have to give a huge thanks to Javier for passing along these tickets to us.
When we first arrived to the festival we really didn't know what to expect, but we were not disappointed. Everything from the food (we both had our first fried Oreo, life changing) to the music to the people were extremely vibrant and everyone was simply having such a good time. My favorite thing was the fashion... oh my gosh the fashion. Even though it rained a bit it's as if everyone's outfits stayed perfectly intact.
The first thing on our to-do list was our meet and greet with Zara Larsson. As I mentioned earlier, Javier (Gabe's brother) gave us these tickets he won on the radio. We initially thought it was a meet and greet and VIP section to Marshmello, so when we found out it wasn't, I'm not going to lie we were a tad bit disappointed. Nonetheless, we showed up and let me tell you.. Zara Larsson is GORGEOUS! After we took pictures with her we were right in front in the VIP section for her performance. Gabe and I also didn't realize how many songs of hers we knew. I love the song 'Symphony' and when I realized she was the vocals for that song I had a fan girl moment. She killed it on stage and now Zara has two more fans added to her list.
Now, you're probably confused at this moment since we did in fact do a meet and greet with Mello and I won't lie to you.. we had to finesse it. I realized that the meet and greets were all being done in the same place and I told Gabe that we should just ask when the m&g for Mello was. So we did and then we came back. They remembered us from earlier and didn't even double check the list. Gabe was like a little child when we got in line. Gabe's been to like a ton of concerts and never got a meet and greet so I was determined to make it happen. Mello is his favorite of all time, so I was stocked that I was able to help him finally meet him. After the m&g with Marshmello we went back to VIP and got our front row spots back for the Mello set. We were literally ON THE RAILS for this and it was an insane amount of fun.
I do have to say it was the people that made the festival so great. Sure, there were a couple drunken fights here and there, but aside from that everyone was just so friendly and so so lovely to be around. Gabe and I had an unforgettable experience and I'm already looking forward to next year! Happy Pride everyone!
