Once we found out that my sister-in-law, Ana, was pregnant a ton of her friends reached out to me to help plan the baby shower. As sweet as that was, I actually have no idea what they want to do for their official baby shower. I started thinking about it more and thought, man, baby showers are boring. You play cliche games and you never really get to spend enough time with people–and let's be honest you're most likely talking to family rather than your friends. A note for family and friends that may be confused, this was not their official baby shower. So you have not missed anything, this was just for their friends. So with the help of Ana and Patrick's two best friends, Mayra and Alice, we were able to pull off a very unique, fun and "younger" type of baby shower...a FUN SHOWER!
The idea of this party was to celebrate Patrick and Ana rather than the baby. Don't get me wrong, we all already love the crap outta this kid, but we wanted to let Patrick and Ana be the center of attention and have one last hoo-rah before the baby comes. Similar to a bachelorette/bachelor party, but baby version. I worked with Mayra and Alice to get everything set up and was so happy that it all came together so nicely. I will go into details and link as much as possible down below for anyone who is interested.
The Theme
Again, we didn't want cliche baby shower decor and Ana isn't really into that kind of stuff anyways, so we kept it aesthetically pretty. White and green were our color schemes with a very "botanical, succulent, garden" accents. Luckily, Mayra actually had a ton of decor–like seriously she easily saved us hundreds of dollars because we didn't have to buy much for this party at all. We set up the tables with white tablecloths, glass vases with monstera leaves, green cutlery and this adorable floral letter "A" that Alice made. Then Mayra built a balloon arch to go over the presents table and we set up these "BABY" blocks and filled them with more green and white balloons. Everyone was told to bring food too and they did not disappoint. Mayra hooked it up with the desserts!! She got a custom made red velvet cake (Ana's favorite), a chocolate heart mold that says "pull out game weak" (iykyk) and chocolate covered strawberries with little "sperms" on them šš. Honestly, the most Patrick and Ana dessert I've ever seen.

The Gifts
In order to keep this fun, we told everyone NO REAL BABY GIFTS. That means no strollers or Amazon gift cards or baby bottles. FUN ITEMS ONLY! Now don't get me wrong, a lot of these gifts–though were funny–were practical so it's a win-win. The opening of gifts was so funny because there were a lot of great items that had funny sayings on them or were things that Ana and Patrick like. I especially loved the prank box that Rocio got them of a "birthie stick" because it took Ana a solid five-minutes to realize it was a joke gift š.

Activities
So this was honestly just a party, but I had a couple of "activities" up my sleeve. Any party I throw there must be a set up to take photos. We used Mayra's "BABY" blocks and set up my ring light for the ultimate photo spot. We not only had the digital camera, but also the polaroid camera out with a box that specifically said "Please leave all photos for Ana." I love my polaroid camera, but film is expensive and these memories are for Ana and Patrick–so I wanted to make sure everyone left the photos for them š. We also had a "guess who brought the onesie" game. It was the only game we played and turned out so great! Everyone brought a onesie or kids clothing item that represents their friendship with Patrick and/or Ana. We hung them up using twine and clothespins and the rules were simple: If they guessed correctly then that person had to take a drink, if they guessed incorrectly then Patrick had to take a drink. Honestly, they did really well (see video down below) until like the last 4 clothing items š. Once we were done eating, I moved all the food off of one table and pulled out a ton of white onesies (all different sizes) and bibs (supplied by my mom–thanks ma!) and everyone was able to paint a onesie for the baby. Everyone wrote/painted really funny things and we hung them up on the twine (using clothespins) to dry which looked super cute! We also got two wooden guestbooks from Target for everyone to sign. The best part about these was that they are wooden toys for the baby! Blocks and a puzzle that Ana and Patrick can keep forever ❤️. Lastly, Alice purchased mini pots, tulip and dandelion seeds and made custom tags that said "Watch Your Little Seed Grow" as party favors! So cute and sooo on brand for this party.
