I was over the moon excited to share this look with everyone. Each year my family rents a beach house and for the week of Thanksgiving we always go down to North Carolina. This tradition started when I was living in Jacksonville (click here to read that blog post) and since then its been a trip my entire family looks forward to each year. Through the years we have come to find what we like to do during this time and last year we went to a bunch of thrift stores so this year I wanted to hit them all again.
Sadly, one that we really liked closed down and it's still a thrift store but it's a Salvation Army thrift store. I normally don't like TSA thrift stores because it's organized by color and that's just not my thing, but this one was still new-is or just opened so it wasn't crazy packed like they usually are. Asides from The War Cry's that were on the front counter they actually had some great stuff! I found an Article leather couch replica and in such good condition. Seriously, if it wasn't already sold I would have bought it.
I also found some high quality and very retro clothing items. I was so stoked when I found a pair of shoes and a purse because it's very rare I find items that good condition! I saw these booties that wee very 70s/80s inspired. Just super retro and even though they're a little big on me, because they are a zip up bootie I'm able to still walk in them just fine without them sliding off!
The next accessory I found was this black snake print purse. The inside is so cool because it's got that magnet opening like older bags and coin purses have. I also found a simple gold (I believe a snake chain) necklace for $3!! I I knew instantly I wanted these pieces and went back to the beach house to see what I could pair with them because I had to photograph these asap.
I had this white on white outfit I was planning on shooting anyways but added the purse, boots, sunglasses and a blue bow for some fun accessories that really spice this look up. A simple monochromatic outfit screams for attention from some fun accessories.
I loved this look I was even kind of sad that I had to change out of it, but I'm so happy at the way it came out. It's totally true what they say that anything old can be made new again.
