Much like your parents—your significant other can be one of the hardest people to shop for. It's because you want to give them a present that shows how you feel, but that's easier said than done. I always opt out for an experience over a physical present, things such as a weekend getaway or a cooking class! But there are definitely a few items that my boyfriend inspired and hopefully yours will love too!
Everyday Skincare Items // Throughout the pandemic my boyfriend and I worked hard on improving our "self-care" routines. Or our "beauty/skincare" routines really. He invested in a Waterpik while I got us a ton of facial oils. Upgrading your partners everyday items will feel luxurious and rewarding when they use it because they know they're improving their overall self. You can purchase that beauty product they've been eyeing or the hair product they wanted to try but didn't want to spend money on.
Shoes // I swear each year we get each other a pair of shoes. Whether it's a nice pair of UGG slippers or the Wolverine soccer cleats he hasn't shut up about—you really can't go wrong with a pair of shoes.
Subscription Boxes // This is the gift that keeps on giving! Monthly subscription boxes are super fun and are basically a surprise gift each month you receive them. The best part is there's one for everybody! Just look up their interest + subscription boxes and you're bound to find something.
Jewelry // This one seems obvious but I'm not talking about getting your partner a heart shaped locket or a bracelet with your name on it... I'm talking about really figuring out their style and getting them something they would wear everyday. They will always think of you when they wear it—even if it doesn't say your name on it. Places like Bauble Bar, Adina's Jewels and Mejuri have some affordable, high quality pieces.
Things to Make Their Lives Easier // I wasn't sure how else to phrase this one and everyone is different, so you really have to know the person you're shopping for. What is an item that can make their everyday lives easier? Something that they may not buy for themselves or maybe they don't even know it exists. Some examples include a visor extender (I'm 4'11 and visors don't work for me, so this visor extender would seriously help me while driving), a collapsable wagon (my boyfriend is a soccer coach and carries so much equipment so a collapsable wagon would help him lug everything from field to field), a StoveShelf (if your partner is always trying to clear room on their countertops then giving them extra storage space would be super helpful), car review mirror anti-fog film (another car item perfect for anyone who has trouble driving in rain) or a portable steamer (for the person whose clothes are always wrinkled). Any gifts like this that can help elevate their life is sure to be a favorite this holiday season.
Movie Night Basket // This idea is a bit more creative and will take more work than just buying stuff. But put together the ultimate movie night basket for you two. Here's what I'm thinking: If their favorite movie is Harry Potter, buy the complete dvd set and then search for cool products and snacks that go with that theme. I would totally buy us some Hogwarts sweaters, a blanket to cozy up in and then tons of Harry Potter inspired treats!
