As I was moving all of my photos and videos to my hard drive it occurred to me that I never shared my New Year's Eve outfit with you all! And this is an outfit that needs its own spotlight ✨.
It was very last minute plans with our usual friend group and I was totally prepared to wear something I already owned, but my boyfriend wanted to go to Express to find something nice to wear and he spoiled me by buying my outfit too 😍. Luckily both of our outfits were in the clearance section so we were hyped.
Let's start with my boyfriends gorgeous red velvet suit jacket 😍. I mean... how handsome does he look? The only problem was he couldn't find pants! So the pants and black velvet bowtie are from JCPenny's and the shirt and jacket are from Express. His shoes are also from Express but a couple season ago and somehow at Kohl's I stumbled across this red-faced watch that just went so *chefs kiss* perfect with his attire.
Now on to the main event: Me! I saw this dress at Express and hoped it fit in all the right places. As a 4'11 gal—dresses can sometimes be really hard to find. I loved the way this dress fit me and it was super soft which you wouldn't be able to tell from a photo. I find that Express just has really soft items like all the time. Then we need to talk about the bathing suit cover up because yes that is indeed a "bathing suit" cover up. When I saw this hanging on the clearance rack I just knew I needed to take it home. Even if it didn't work with the vision I had in mind—I needed her in my life. *Enter TikTok sounds: You're coming home with me.*
This coverup was a size Medium but that's okay because that only meant it was longer than usual. And I wanted this thing to five off total Stevie Nicks vibes so the more *dramatic* the better. Then as I waited for my boyfriend I browsed the earrings and saw this extravagant long CZ earrings they look like waterfalls of diamond (but CZ) and they went so well with my coverup. The thigh high boots however are from Gabe's the department store!
And that was our look. How did we do for last minute shoppers? And thank you to Express for always having more than enough high-quality items in stock—even for us petite gals 😉.
