Since I came out with the rebrand, I wanted to dive a little deeper into the history of my blog and brand. I started my blog on a free Wix website back in 2012/2013. I was really looking for something after MySpace had disappeared and Facebook wasn’t cutting it. I wanted something more customizable and personal.
I tried so many platforms before I found Blogger and I really love Blogger. I know WordPress is the best (so I’ve heard) but I love how Blogger is connected to Google and it’s so easy to manage and maintain the business side of things as well as the creative side.
I didn’t pay for an LLC or domain name for a long time. Mostly because I didn’t keep up with it consistently and didn’t really know what I wanted from my blog. Then when I moved to North Carolina I wanted to have a creative space where I could share my life, work on my photography and keep my writing skills sharp. I thought long and hard and came up with the name Féline by Katsaris. It incorporated my last name and played off the KAT part of my last name with Feline. I loved it so much. But it was a mouthful…and not very easy to find…SEO-wise anyways.
I had been thinking about changing it for a while, and one day during the summer of 2019 I had a dream where my blog name was Michele with One L. I couldn’t stop thinking about it after that. Because it’s perfect! My name is Michele—with one L! I quickly looked it up to see if it was available and it was…kind of. The actual domain “michelewithonel” was used, but micheleonel was not. It’s all about how you say it, you know like… my name is Michele, one L. MicheleOneL.com!
My name is forever being spelled wrong. If I tell someone my name is Michele they spell it with two L’s. If I say "Michele with one L," they either call me Michael (who added an A?) or Michel (who said one E?). I love my name though, it’s so special to me because I was named after my grandma. It’s unique and fits me so well.
But since it is getting spelled wrong all the time, I decided to just have fun with it and make it part of my brand. My blog is a lifestyle blog because I love everything! I love fashion, skincare, traveling, and of course—my dog. So this blog is where you can come if 1) You want to keep up with my life or 2) You’re going through the same phase of life I am—adulting! I’ll be 30 years old soon and I want to make this space a safe place for people to learn from my mistakes so they don’t make the same ones.
