In early January my boyfriend and I went to the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Forest Experience in Leesburg, VA. I had been seeing this thing all over my for you page and even hometown friends had posted about it so I knew I had to go.
Ticket prices range depending on the day you go (weekends cost more vs. a work day) but for $65—this was totally worth it. Especially if you don't leave near Universal Studios and need The Wizarding World to come to you. This is a great way to get your HP fix that you've been craving!
So to start off they have a great photo op with the Stag Patronus along with food and merch. And don't worry—it's all themed! There's Butterbeer, Honeydukes Sweets, and various British food selections. Then in a group, you're escorted into the forest. This is a self-paced walk so don't feel rushed!
You get to walk through various themed parts of the forest and see certain events that happen throughout the series. Including casting your own Patronus, saying hi to Hagrid and Fang, bowing to Buckbeak, finding Nifflers, Aragorn's layer, and seeing the Death Eaters' marks. There are some spots that are spooky and give you chills which totally goes with the vibes.
Halfway through there is a place to use the restroom, eat, shop, and even roast marshmallows! This experience is very interactive and entertaining. It really is perfect for all ages too and I don't know if we just went on a good day but everyone was so nice and considerate of other people's times and space. Unlike sometimes when you're at the parks and sometimes people stop in the middle of the road š—that wasn't the case here. It was a fantastic experience and I loved having a little magic to end the holidays.
